Specifically, the Project works to organize “communities of color” into politically cohesive units while disseminating its leftist worldviews and values as broadly as possible by way of a sophisticated communications department. A key funder of AP National is George Soros‘s Open Society Institute, which in 2009 alone gave $500,000 to the organization. Other leading funders include the California Endowment, the Ford Foundation, the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, the James Irvine Foundation, the W.K.
