Beirut Marine Bombing, a Mossad False Flag Operation to create US Animosity Towards the Arab World

“I reported that Marine had been sent there to become the focus of a major incident. The Mossad is to arrange for a number of our Marines to be killed in an incident that will be blamed on Arabs! This will be used to inflame American public opinion to help us lead into war including ultimately nuclear war,” – Dr. Beter, a Pentagon analyst, November 3, 1982.

One year after the revealing remark above and sixteen years after the USS Liberty Surveillance Ship was sunk by US ally Israel to cover for Israel’s massacring of about 1000 Egyptian POWs and other crimes the ship may have intercepted and discovered, 241 U.S. Marines died when a Mercedes truck packed with explosives demolished their barracks at Beirut International Airport on October 23, 1983 at 6:20am when most of the Marines were still asleep. A similar explosion occurred nearly simultaneously at the French military barracks a few kilometers away, killing 56 French troops.

In the wake of the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon, President Ronald Reagan had sent 1,800 marines to Beirut to act as “peace keepers.” Ariel Sharon and the Israeli leadership, however, resented the interference and used the U.S. presence to commit a false-flag operation that killed 241 marines, according to Victor Ostrovsky in his book on the Mossad, By Way of Deception.

Ostrovsky, a former Mossad officer, reported that Nahum Admoni, the Mossad director at the time, had very specific information about the truck being prepared for the attack on the U.S. Marines, but had intentionally withheld this crucial information from the U.S. military.  “No, we’re not there to protect Americans. They’re a big country. Send only the regular information,” Admoni reportedly said. Israel took a similar position on September 11, 2001 attack on WTC and the Pentagon – while asking prime minister Ariel Sharon to cancel his schedule travel to Washington.

Admoni, the son of Polish immigrants, was director of the Mossad from 1982 to 1989. In 1947-48, Admoni had served in the Shai, the Haganah intelligence branch headed by Isser Harel, and later in the newly created IDF Intelligence, Aman. After the 1948 war, Admoni studied at the University of California, Berkeley, until 1954.

The purpose of the false flag terror bombings in Lebanon was to create U.S. animosity toward the Arab world and align the U.S. with Israel, according to Ostrovsky (just as the Pentagon analyst, Beter, in the top quote determined). There had been an earlier car bomb at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut on April 18, 1983, which had killed seventeen Marines.  The bombing compelled the Marines to move offshore and President Reagan ordered them to be withdrawn from Lebanon on February 7, 1984.

The Beirut bombing was the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima.  Israeli intelligence is suspected of having been involved in the bombings in Lebanon.

On March 15, 1978, Israel had invaded Lebanon. As result of UN Resolution, the Israel Occupation Force (IOF) were replaced by UNIFIL peacekeepers in June 1978. On June 6, 1982 – under the orders of Israeli Defence Minister Ariel Sharon, IOF invaded Lebanon again – holding the entire civilian population of Beirut and Palestinian refugee camps under siege. In august 1982, Yasser Arafat, agreed to shift PLO headquarter from Lebanon for Tunis. President Reagan sent 800 Marines to help evacuate 14,000 Palestinian refugees. Soon after the Marines left Beirut – Ariel Sharon unleashed his Christian Maronite militants of Phalange Party, who were armed and trained by IOF under the orders of Israeli prime minister Rabin, who reportedly invested US$150 million during Lebanese Civil War (1975-76). The Christian militants murdered 5,000 of civilian men, women and children in cold-blood in Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. Reagan, under pressure from the Jewish Lobby, despatched 1800 Marines to Beirut to look after Israeli interests after the withdrawal of IOF forces from the city.

Israeli butchery resulted in the formation of Islamic Resistance group Hizb’Allah in 1982 – as a major provider of social services, operating schools, hospitals and agricultural services to tens of thousands of Lebanese in the South. Hizb’Allah’s military resistance wing finally achieved its first major victory on the international canvass when it forced IOF to abandon most part of Israeli occupied Southern Lebanon in 2000. In Summer 2006, Hizb’Allah inflicted a serious dent in IOF’s “invinciblity” myth and became a hero in the Arab world.
