The U.S. Capitol Police arrested a group of nine staffers from CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for allegedly trespassing in the U.S. Capitol on Thursday night, according to Fox News.
The group of Colbert staffers was arrested in the Capitol’s Longworth House Office Building and charged with illegal entry into the House office buildings after hours. These nine individuals were reportedly escorted out of the January 6 Committee hearing earlier Thursday for not having proper press credential.
As the U.S. Capitol Police explained in a statement to Fox News:
On June 16, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) received a call for a disturbance in the Longworth House Office Building. Responding officers observed seven individuals, unescorted and without Congressional ID, in a sixth-floor hallway. The building was closed to visitors, and these individuals were determined to be a part of a group that had been directed by the USCP to leave the building earlier in the day. They were charged with Unlawful Entry. This is an active criminal investigation, and may result in additional criminal charges after consultation with the U.S. Attorney.
According to Fox News, Jake Plunkett, Allison Martinez, Tyrone Dean, Stephen Romond, Nicoletta Green, Brendan Hurley, Robert Smigel, Josh Comers, and David Feldman. Smigel is famous for voicing Comedy Central’s Trump the Insult Dog.
The group took photos and videos near the offices of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), according to Fox News’s Chad Pergram.
Fox News’s Jesse Watters reported that the Colbert staffers were let into the House office building by Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Jake Auchincloss (D-MA).
There have been calls for Schiff to resign from his post on the January 6 Committee over this breach of security. In addition, many want to see Colbert’s staffers arrested and charged with the same crimes as those who entered the Capitol on January 6.
“If they aren’t charged criminally the same as J6 defendants, then more evidence of selective prosecution arises,” Mike Cernovich tweeted. “Judges can only rig stuff so much before the judiciary loses all legitimacy. Throw the book at these trespassers.”
Tucker Carlson reported on this latest US Capitol break-in.
FOX News reported:
Late Thursday, the individuals, including “Triumph, the Insult Dog” puppeteer Robert Smigel – a frequent guest of Colbert’s — were not credentialed to be walking around without an escort, a House Republican source told Fox News. Others arrested included Colbert writer Josh Comers and associate producer Allison Martinez.
The group was cleared into the complex by staffers for Rep. Jake Auchincloss, D-Mass., and House January 6 Committee Member Adam Schiff, D-Calif.
The group reportedly banged on doors of several Republican offices – including that of Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California, Jim Jordan of Ohio and Lauren Boebert of Colorado — as they allegedly filmed a skit for Colbert’s “Late Show” program that was to center around the January 6 hearings.
Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill, the ranking member on the House Committee on Administration – which has jurisdiction over the Capitol Police and House chamber operations – told “Jesse Watters Primetime” Friday he will demand answers when Congress returns to session next week.
Davis noted the Colbert group visited the same buildings as those on Rep. Loudermilk’s, heavily-scrutinized January 5, 2021 tour.

Colbert’s goons were not only harassing Republican lawmakers after hours but they also went and harassed and mocked the families of the January 6 prisoners held in prison for over a year without a trial.
On July 18th, 2022, it was revealed Stephen Colbert’s crew was cleared of “unlawful entry” charges after they were caught inside a House Office Building after hours without permission.
From the US Attorney’s office in DC: “We do not believe it is probable that the Office would be able to obtain and sustain convictions on these charges.”
It gets worse…
Matthew Graves, the Biden-appointed US Attorney who dropped the charges on Colbert’s goons is also the prosecutor investigating January 6! Matthew Graves also works for US Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Apparently only Trump supporters have to rot in prison for ‘unlawfully’ entering the US Capitol.
“It turns out [Graves] is also the prosecutor investigating January 6th,” Fox News host Jesse Watters said. “Is he giving those guys the same treatment?”
