Taking Back Our Stolen History

Rice, Susan

(b. Nov 1964) Appointed as President Obama’s top national security adviser in 2013, having previously been appointed as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Rice unfortunately has a history of political corruption and duplicity. Also served on the National Security Council for the Clinton administration. She infamously claimed, falsely, going on five Sunday news shows and every major television news network to disseminate the lie that the deadly terrorist attack in Benghazi was not a premeditated assault, but rather a “spontaneous reaction” to “a hateful and offensive video that was widely disseminated throughout the Arab and Muslim world.” She said deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl served “with honor and distinction.” It was also discovered in April 2017 that she requested the ‘unmasking’ of President Trump’s transition team members, including General Michael Flynn. Amazingly, Rice has amassed a net worth of over $50 million, a lot for someone who spent their life in the public sector where her NSC salary was $170K.1

Rice was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship and subsequently attended New College, Oxford, where she earned a master’s degree in philosophy in 1988 and a Ph.D. in the same discipline two years later. While at Oxford in 1990, Rice wrote a 426-page dissertation that lauded Zimbabwe’s Marxist dictator, Robert Mugabe. During the Rwandan genocide of mid-1994 — in which some 800,000 people were massacred in a 100-day period — Rice was a key player in the Clinton administration’s decision not to intervene in a peacekeeping role. In 1996 Rice helped persuade President Clinton to rebuff Sudan’s offer to turn Osama bin Laden, who was then living there, over to U.S. authorities.

Following the 1998 Islamic terrorists simultaneously bombings of the American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing more than 200 people, Rice, within 24 hours, appeared on PBS as a Clinton administration spokesperson and falsely claimed that the administration had “maintain[ed] a high degree of security at all of our embassies at all times.” In reality, the administration had ignored urgent warnings to beef up security. Rice claimed that climate change was responsible for the deadly civil war in Syria where hundreds of thousands of Syrians were killed in the conflict after President Barack Obama drew his infamous “red line” in 2012, promising to retaliate against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime if it used chemical weapons on its own people.

“In the years prior to civil war breaking out in Syria, that country also experienced its worst drought on record,” Rice said in October 2015, during a speech at Stanford University. “Farming families moved en masse into urban centers, increasing political unrest and further priming the country for conflict.”

She once declared that there was “no military solution” to the raging conflict in Yemen. “As in Syria, there is no military solution to the crisis in Yemen,” Rice said in April 2015, during a speech at the Arab American Institute’s Kahlil Gibran Gala. Seven months before Rice’s speech, President Obama had called his administration’s drone strike-driven military operation in Yemen a success story. President Trump, however, ordered more airstrikes against al-Qaeda in Yemen in February than any year in Obama’s presidency.2
