An organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state and federal levels. AFP consist of more than 1.2 million members in all fifty states. Founded by David Koch in 2004, Tim Phillips is the organizations president. They are based in the Washington, D.C. area and operate 30 chapters nationwide. As citizen activists, they organize events, write letters to the editor, and petition their lawmakers to uphold freedom and prosperity. AFP has a separate entity called Americans for Prosperity Foundation that is committed to educating citizens about economic policy and a return of the federal government to its Constitutional limits. Interestingly, the Koch brothers’ network of billionaire, donor-class organizations is fighting President Trump’s economic nationalist agenda ahead of the 2020 election with efforts to give amnesty to illegal aliens and an anti-tariff legislation campaign that would hurt American jobs.1
