A Yemeni born UK citizen who became head of British foreign intelligence (MI6) Russia desk and (after retiring from MI6 and founding his own private intelligence agency, Orbis Business Intelligence), was paid by Hillary Rodham Clinton to meddle in the 2016 US presidential election. Steele, along with John Brennan, was a key player in the Russia collusion hoax. Steele attended Cambridge University and rose in the ranks of British government service. teele maintains contacts with British Intelligence, Sir Richard Dearlove and the UK Intelligence firm Hakluyt.
In June 2016, Steele was subcontracted to Hillary Clinton through the American firm FusionGPS to spy on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The Obama FBI had been engaged in FISA abuse, conducting illegal wiretaps on political opponents since at least 2012. Through FusionGPS’s contacts in the Obama administration, Steele received raw FISA surveillance information from the FBI and authored an opposition research document known as the Steele dossier, with fanciful embellishments intended to impugn Trump and associates. The dossier was fed back to the Obama Department of Justice and FBI, and presented again to the FISA court as probable cause to extend illegal wiretaps against candidate, president-elect, and president Donald Trump, and others.
Steele was identified as a British spy in 1999, and was head of the Russia desk when Russian FSB defector Alexander Litvinenko was killed in a sushi restaurant in London. Steele was hardly in a position to make discreet inquiries with the Kremlin, which he claimed he did in the Steele dossier. Steele had not been to Russia in twenty-five years.
