Bible history
Because of the powerful words of love, hope, peace, and comfort from the mighty author of all truth, the Bible has been the guide to billions of hearts and minds. It has taught & enlightened both learned and ignorant; comforted the sad & lonely; strengthened the weak; given direction and discipline to the lost and destitute; brought peace to the repentant; filled countless hearts with love & joy; & has been the hope of all generations – before, during, and after the lifetime of Jesus Christ. Thanks to the miracle of the King James Bible and men like Wycliff, Tynsdale, Purvey, Erasmus, Luther, Jerome, and others who sacrificed to translate and bring the word to the common people, we can continue to study and learn all we can (with our own Bibles) throughout our lives so that we can endure to the end, guard against the temptations of Satan and draw closer to Him daily.
A certain Christian man laboring in India offered to give interested natives a copy of the Bible. After hearing of its message, many eagerly responded. One old man, looking upon the Bible with reverence, asked, “How long has this book been in the world?” When he learned it had existed for centuries, he sorrowfully shook his head. “I am an old man. All my friends have died hopeless. … And all this time the book was here and nobody brought it to me.” 1 How quickly he sensed the worth of his new possession: a record of God’s dealings with man from the time of the Creation. The Bible is indeed a book of immense consequence.
Surely the sacrifices the Jews have made in bringing forth and preserving precious records through many centuries of trials and tribulations are immense. Yet that is only a part of the story. The whole history of the formation of the Bible, Old Testament and New, and of the efforts to preserve it and to place it in the tongues of common men is a fascinating story both of special blessing by God and of utmost sacrifice by man.
Dr. Lawrence M. Sanger, a world-renowned technologist, respected information expert, an in-demand public speaker, and co-founder of the online non-profit encyclopedia Wikipedia, wrote a blog on his website titled 'Wikipedia Is Badly Biased.' Wikipedia’s “NPOV” is dead. The original policy long since forgotten, Wikipedia no longer has an effective neutrality policy. There is a rewritten policy, but it endorses the utterly bankrupt canard that journalists should avoid what they call “false balance.” The ...
The Bible predicts an end-times war called the battle of Gog and Magog. While there have been many interpretations of the relevant Scriptures, many scholars agree it’s a short war of extreme violence involving the whole world. God’s children win, by the way. Now Breaking Israel News reports a new Princeton study backs up the biblical account. Princeton University’s Program on Science and Global Security concludes ...
Archaeologists in Israel announced the discovery of a large 1,500-year-old pool and elaborate fountain at the site of an ancient church near Jerusalem. The pool is part of a system of pools unearthed at Ein Hanniya Park between 2012 and 2016, officials said Wednesday. Built during the Byzantine era, the pools date back to between the 4th and 6th centuries A.D., according to the Israel Antiquities ...
A new scientific study that stunningly suggests the human race sprang from a single adult couple, as the Bible records, also suggests animals appeared at the same time, also as the Bible suggests. It was a major shock to evolutionary science when a sweeping survey of the genetic code showed the human race sprang from a single adult couple, such as an Adam and Eve. The ...
Archaeologists in Israel say they’ve uncovered the entrance gate to Zer, a biblical city from the Old Testament they say was later known as Bethsaida in the New Testament. The find in the Golan Heights area was made in the past two weeks and was announced Sunday by the Golan Regional Council, according to The Jerusalem Post. Zer is mentioned in Joshua 19:35 as one of ...
An ancient and much-debated fragment of the Gospel of Mark has been dated to the late second to early third century A.D., making it the oldest fragment of Mark ever found. The Egypt Exploration Society made the announcement about the fragment – known as P.Oxy LXXXIII 5345 – on its website May 24. “After rigorous comparison with other objectively dated texts, the hand of this papyrus ...
In May, archaeologists made strides in proving the existence of King David. Reportedly, many experts have doubted the biblical account of David, noting that there is no evidence suggesting that there was even civilization in the time David is said to have ruled. According to Breaking Israel News, Professor Avraham Faust, who led the archaeological dig, said that scientists really only started doubting David’s existence in the ...
Abstract The advent of modern genetics has seen the evolutionary community redouble its efforts to argue for human-primate common ancestry and against the traditional Christian understanding of the origin of the human race. As has been argued in previous chapters, a careful reading of Genesis 1–11 indicates that God created Adam and Eve supernaturally and without prior ancestry, and that all of humanity traces their ancestry back to this original ...
The Revelation 12 Sign was an extremely rare and complex astronomical alignment which many believe matches the Biblical prophecy found in Revelation 12:1-2. In September 2017, multiple celestial bodies converged into one area of the sky to, according to some, literally fulfill the imagery found in the Bible. The most unique portion of the Rev12 Sign is that the king planet (Jupiter) enters into the womb ...
The provocative Jesus Seminar concluded six years of voting on what the Jesus of history most likely said, ruling out about 80% of words attributed to him in the Gospels and emerging with the picture of a prophet-sage who told parables and made pithy comments. This was just another strategic attack from the anti-Christian overlords who have waged a war on Christianity, as His divinity, teachings, and ...
