Cartels / Monopolies

The ruling elite derives its power from the state. It is the state that helps the ruling elite to obtain various privileges such as subsidies, cartels and monopolies. It is usually the Big Business and especially the Big Banks who are the biggest monopolists. Thus revisionists from both the left and right point out that the basic structure of history has not changed. It is still a battle between freedom and state granted privileges.
