DOJ Hires Special Council to Investigate Trump on Mar-a-Lago

Democrats have officially transformed the United States into a banana republic.

As Cristina Laila reported earlier US Attorney General Merrick Garland will appoint a special counsel to investigate whether criminal charges should be filed against Trump.

Trump earlier this week announced his 2024 bid for the White House so Biden’s DOJ is running interference.

The corrupt Department of Justice will investigate President Trump on the White House documents he brought with him to Mar-a-Lago when he left office and for the junk “insurrection” charges they accused him of after the January 6 protests.

This is the latest garbage attack on President Trump. The Biden regime – and certain Republicans – are out to destroy him so the populist movement in America will just go away.

This is the new January 6 investigation.

Garland says this will not replace investigations of anyone who was “illegally present” on public grounds on January 6th.

Jack Smith, whose wife and mother-in-law are connected to George Soros with major conflicts of interest, will serve as Special Counsel.

Mr. Smith began his career as follows:

Jack Smith was appointed First Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee in February of 2015. Prior to his appointment, from 2010 to 2015 Mr. Smith served as Chief of the Public Integrity Section of the United States Department of Justice, supervising the litigation of complex public corruption cases across the country. From 2008 to 2010, Jack served as Investigation Coordinator in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague, Netherlands. In that capacity, he supervised sensitive investigations of foreign government officials and militia for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. Mr. Smith joined the ICC from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, where he served for 9 years in a number of supervisory positions, including Chief of Criminal Litigation and Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. As Chief of Criminal Litigation, Mr. Smith supervised approximately 100 criminal prosecutors across a range of program areas, such as public corruption, violent crime and gangs, and white collar and complex financial fraud. Before becoming an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Smith served for five years as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office.

Notice that Mr. Smith was at the DOJ in Eastern New York starting in 1999. This was the same time that Andrew Weissmann worked at the DOJ at the same location. Weissmann worked at the New York location until 2002. They likely knew each other or even worked together at that time.

Jack Smith also worked with Lois Lerner from the IRS when she targeted conservative groups to help Obama during his reelection.

Was Weissmann who was behind setting up the Special Counsel and picking Attorney Smith as the head of the new effort to destroy President Trump? For that matter, is Weissmann running this Special Counsel too?

Of course, this is unprecedented in American history. There has never been a US president who investigated his top political opponent during a campaign season. And yet here we are.

Here is how FOX News reported on this historic announcement. They buried it. By 8 PM the story was just a blip on their page. There was a video of Trump-hater Karl Rove available on the sidebar. And FOX News cable channel REFUSED to air President Trump’s evening response. FOX News has decided to promote the tools of the Marxist left.

They will NO LONGER promote news that involves President Trump — No matter how important it is. FOX News hates Trump. And FOX News hates TRUMP VOTERS. Do not be fooled.

The same day, Marjorie Taylor Greene texted Steve Bannon on The War Room after the announcement and told him she spoke with Kevin McCarthy and he will not fund another garbage special counsel investigation of President Trump.₂

A federal appeals court on December 1st of 2022 halted Judge Aileen Cannon’s special master review in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago documents case. In September, Judge Cannon appointed a special master to review the documents seized at Mar-a-Lago. Biden’s corrupt Justice Department argued that a special master didn’t have a right to filter out the seized documents. The court blasted Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, and said she erred in appointing Raymond Dearie as a special master to review documents seized from Mar-a-Lago. The judges wrote:

“The law is clear. We cannot write a rule that allows any subject of a search warrant to block government investigations after the execution of the warrant. Nor can we write a rule that allows only former presidents to do so.”

Two of the three judges on a panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals were nominated by Trump.

Politico reported:

A federal appeals court has acted to shut down an outside review of the Justice Department’s use of nearly 3,000 documents the FBI seized from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in August.
A panel of the Atlanta-based 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled unanimously that a district court judge erred both by granting Trump’s request to block investigators’ access to the records and in her decision to appoint a special master to assess Trump’s claims that some of the documents could be protected by executive privilege or other legal doctrines.
The ruling represents another major setback for the former president and a clear victory for the Justice Department. Prosecutors had been using those records as part of a criminal investigation into alleged retention of national security information, theft of government records and obstruction of justice.
