Report from Iron Mountain

A think-tank study released in 1966 with which the origin of the report is highly debated, the document itself hints that it was commissioned by the Department of Defense under Defense Secretary, Robert McNamara (CFR) and was produced by the Hudson Institute located at the base of Iron Mountain in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. The Hudson Institute was founded and directed by Herman Kahn (CFR), formerly of the Rand Corporation. The major conclusion of the report was that, in the past, war has been the only reliable means to lure the masses compliant enough to carry the yoke of government without complaint and should continue to be an indispensable condition for “stabilizing society.” The report sought to redefine ‘peace’; use a more sophisticated form of slavery for the masses; preoccupy them with recreation, trivial game shows, pornography, situation comedies, and especially violent blood games; and to find a credible global threat such as poverty, environmental pollution (deemed the most credible), or an alien invasion.
