Ball, John

(c. 1338 – 15 July 1381) Famous priest who wanted the people to be free and fought for the common people to make sure there were no unfair laws. He was highly critical of the way the church taxed people and urged them not to pay their tithes. He also believed that the Bible should be published in English, heavily influenced by the 14th century preacher, John Wycliffe. Ball was sent to prison by the king for telling the peasants about the bad things the king was doing which resulted in the peasants revolt. Read More…
