Taking Back Our Stolen History

1960’s

1960’s

The 1960s started off as the dawn of a golden age to most Americans. On January 20, 1961, the handsome and charismatic John F. Kennedy became president of the United States. His confidence that, as one historian put it, “the government possessed big answers to big problems” seemed to set the tone for the rest of the decade. However, that golden age never materialized. On the contrary, by the end of the 1960s, it seemed that the nation was falling apart. Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” splintered as the Democratic Party split and America became increasingly enmeshed in the Vietnam War.

Project Stormfury Begins: the ESSA/Navy Hurricane Research and Modification Program (Aug 17, 1962 – 1983)

Project Stormfury - the ESSA/Navy hurricane research and modification program - will attempt to seed hurricanes massively and repeatedly, to learn whether the force of these storms can be diminished. The Project’s major goal this season is to repeat the eyewall-seeding experiments conducted in 1969, in the hope of confirming the results. Other experiments planned for the 1970 season include seeding of hurricane rain bands and rain sectors, and continuation of experiments on lines of tropical cumulus clouds not associated with hurricanes. Project Stormfury’s 1970 season will open ...

Iconic Sex Symbol of the Era, Marilyn Monroe, was Found Dead at her Home

Marilyn Monroe was found dead by her psychiatrist Ralph Greenson in her bedroom on August 5, 1962. While her death was classified as a “probable suicide” due to “acute barbiturate poisoning”, it is still one of the most debated conspiracy theories of all time. There are indeed a great number of facts pointing toward murder, yet the truth about her death has never been officially acknowledged. Since Marilyn’s demise, a great number of other celebrities have lost their lives in similar circumstances. To those who are aware of ...

Harvard Psychologist Stanley Milgram Submits his Experiment on Obedience to Authority to the ‘Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology’ for Publication

If an authority figure ordered you to deliver a 400-volt electrical shock to another person, would you follow orders? Most people would answer with an adamant "no." However, the Milgram obedience experiment aimed to prove otherwise.During the 1960s, Yale University psychologist Stanley Milgram conducted a series of obedience experiments that led to some surprising results. These results offer a compelling and disturbing look at the power of authority and obedience. More recent investigations cast doubt on some of the implications of Milgram's findings and even question the results ...
Engel v. Vitale: Supreme Court Rules School Prayer Unconstitutional

Engel v. Vitale: Supreme Court Rules School Prayer Unconstitutional

The New York school system had adopted a prayer to be said before the start of each day's classes. This prayer was to help promote good moral character of the students, spiritual training and help combat juvenile delinquency. The regents wrote a prayer for the schools which had to be non-sectarian or denominational. It was so bland that it became known to some religious leaders as the "to whom it may concern prayer." Here is the Regents prayer. Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon thee, and we ...

LBJ: “He who controls the weather will control the world”

“It lays the predicate and foundation for the development of a weather satellite that will permit man to determine the world's cloud layer and ultimately to control the weather; and he who controls the weather will control the world” - Vice President Johnson at Southwest Texas State University (1962) [1] “In his subcommittee’s detailed summary statement Johnson proclaimed that our very future depended on being the ones who first seized ownership of space. “Control of space means control of the world,” Johnson declared. “From space, the masters of infinity would ...

Project Highwater Begins: Experimental Release of Water in the Ionosphere resulted for radio disruption

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) The United States plans to launch its Saturn superrocket on a second test flight next Wednesday, and as a bonus experiment, to blow it up 63 miles high to determine what happens when 95 tons of water is sprayed in the icy ionosphere. Primary goal of the flight is to further test the propulsion system of the first stage, an eight-engine monster which pours out 1.3 million pounds of thrust, more than three times greater than any present U.S. rocket. Operation Northwoods: A Proposed False Flag Operation to Fly Planes into US Buildings and Blame Castro

On March 13, 1962, the Joint Chiefs of Staff proposed to President John F. Kennedy that the United States attack itself — and blame Cuba. This is what is known as a “false flag” event. This proposal came at the request of the CIA’s Edward Lansdale who was in charge of the anti-Castro project. Kennedy dismissed it as lunacy, certain to lead to war. This set him on a fatal collision course with the most powerful people in the country. This little-known proposal, code-named Operation Northwoods, is highly ...

Operation Mongoose: A CIA Proposal, Approved by the Pentagon, to Kill Innocent Americans or Cuban Refugees and Blame it on Castro to Provoke an Invasion

Failure at the Bay of Pigs did not deter the Kennedy administration from seeking ways to topple Castro. In November 1961 Operation Mongoose was created to coordinate these efforts. This was not a strictly CIA operation - General Edward Lansdale was tasked with coordinating activities between the CIA, Defense Department, and State Department. The Special Group Augmented (augmented by the President's brother Robert Kennedy and General Maxwell Taylor) oversaw the program at the White House, and Robert Kennedy played a very active role. Mongoose entailed a wide range ...

President Kennedy Issues Document 7277 Entitled ‘Freedom From War: The US Program for General and Complete Disarmament in a Peaceful World’

In the interest of peace, many Americans have been persuaded to support disarmament programs and to create as a substitute for each nation's military a United Nations Peace Force. Most feel certain that their own rights and the independence of their nation would in no way be placed in jeopardy. But there is a vital question few seem willing or able to ask: Who would be left to restrain the all-powerful United Nations? For his Secretaries of State and Defense, President John F. Kennedy selected Dean Rusk and ...
