Daunte Wright was shot and killed by a police officer Sunday night, sparking violent protests. The bodycam footage shows that gang-banger Daunte Wright resisted arrest and fled the scene. Police were in the process of cuffing Wright during a traffic stop when he broke free and jumped in his car.

Daunte Wright had a warrant out for ‘choking and holding a woman at gunpoint for $820’. Wright “choked a woman and threatened to shoot her if she did not hand over $820 she had stuffed in her bra,” court papers obtained by The Daily Mail allege.

The Daily Mail also noted that reports claiming Wright didn’t know he had a warrant out for his arrest were false.

The officer, Kim Potter, screamed, “Taser! Taser! Taser!” before she discharged her weapon. According to the police chief, the officer “accidentally discharged” her weapon instead of using a taser. Daunte Wright crashed his car after he tried to flee the scene. Both she and the police chief would resign within a couple of days.

Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon called the shooting of Daunte Wright an “accidental discharge”.

“It is my belief that the officer had the intention to employ their taser, but instead shot Mr. Wright with a single bullet,” he said.

For several nights following the accidental shooting, police in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Center used teargas and flash-bang grenades to disperse a crowd of Black Lives Matter activists ‘protesting’ (violently attacking police, looting, vandalism) the shooting of Daunte Wright. Protesters rallied outside the police station, chanting Wright’s name and “Black Lives Matter,” as police sought to disperse the “unlawful assembly.”

Some of the protesters brought umbrellas and tried to set up a “shield wall” previously observed in Hong Kong, facing a line of state troopers wearing riot armor and armed with batons. One activist carried a shield with ‘ACAB’ (All Cops Are Bastards) graffiti on it.

Rioting, looting, and vandalism also broke out in other cities around the US, including NYC, Portland, and Washington DC.

The Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Timberwolves postponed games scheduled for Monday following the police shooting of Daunte Wright. The Minnesota Twins said it was “out of respect for the tragic events that occurred yesterday.” Seriously?
